In August 2025, my dad was diagnosed with lung cancer which had spread to his brain, as they found a tumour. We became aware of his cancer as he had an unexpected seizure, not long after we returned from a family holiday for my 40th birthday.
I felt like my world had fallen apart, as he was the last person I expected to be diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. My dad has always been my best friend. I've grown up by his side whilst he served 22 years in the Army and I've looked up to him my entire life. He is the man that made me who I am today. He taught me to have good manners, to always be kind, to work hard and to respect others. He has never had a day off work in his entire life. He has a wicked sense of humour, which is maybe why Sox UK came to life in the first place.
He is doing amazingly well and I am so proud to be his daughter. He is loved by many. Before Dad fell poorly, he was always at my events. He would always set them up with me, and he features in some of my social media posts on Facebook and Instagram. His motto with Sox UK is: "SELL SELL SELL, kid."
I have worked so hard to make him proud, creating a small business from nothing. So many families suffer from this terrible illness, so I have created these very special socks to give back. Every pair purchased will have 10% donated to Cancer Research UK. The NHS have been incredible looking after my wonderful dad Steve, and I hope all cancer patients have the strength to fight this terrible illness together.
